Uva's Bookshelf
My bookshelf is well stocked with mythological texts, traditional tales and ancient sagas from the Irish and the Norse. Grab a book off the shelf, sit back and read.
Irish
Táin Bó Cúalnge -- a complete translation of the Cattle-raid of Cooley, the central epic in the Ulster Cycle.
Irish Verse and Literature -- a large collection of Irish mythological tales.
The Wooing of Etain -- a public domain version of one of my favorite Irish myths.
A to Z of Ancient Ireland -- here is an online encyclopedia of Irish mythology.
Norse
The online medieval and classical library -- among many other things, you can find many Icelandic sagas and Germanic mythology complete and in English translation at this fantastic site.
The Norse Classics Page -- this is truly extensive collection, including a English translation of the entire Elder Edda, the Poetic Edda, a collection of sagas, other stories, plus glossaries, a genealogy of the Norse gods and some other things of interest. This is a site is a must. Visit it! (even though you have to click through a few introduction pages to get to the main library)
Norse Mythology -- this is an on-line encyclopedia of Norse mythology. Although it is currently under construction, it contains useful reference information on who's who among the Norse.
